Ambient Air Temperature

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Jaguar XE and 2017 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The ambient air temperature is displayed in the top right side of the message center. The temperature can be displayed in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C) and this is selectable by the driver using the 'Temperature Units' selection of the 'Instrument Display' in the Main Menu.

If the external temperature falls to 4 °C (39 °F) or below, the external temperature display is accompanied by an amber snowflake symbol.

The ambient air temperature signal is obtained from the Ambient Air Temperature (AAT) sensor located in the left door mirror, the sensor signals are passed to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM sends the signal on the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) powertrain systems bus to the message center.
