Removal And Installation: Removal

  7. NOTE: Only fit the component illustrated of special tool JLR-303-1633.

  10. CAUTION: Note the installed position of the component prior to removal.

    • Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
    • Remove and discard the O-ring seals.

  17. CAUTION:
    • Always plug any open connections to prevent contamination.
    • Discard the component.

    NOTE: Only turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation.

  25. WARNING: Make sure that the transmission is secured with suitable retaining straps.

    • General Equipment:  Transmission jack

  30. WARNING: This step requires the aid of another technician.
    CAUTION:
    • Care must be taken to avoid damaging the surrounding components.
    • Make sure that the torque converter remains in the transmission.
    NOTE: Secure the torque converter to the transmission using suitable cable ties.
