Paddle Switches

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Jaguar XE and 2017 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The paddle switches are hard wired to the right steering wheel switchpack. Operation of the paddle switch completes a ground path to the right steering wheel switchpack. The right steering wheel switchpack converts the completed ground into a Local Interconnect Network (LIN) bus signal which is passed via the Steering Wheel Module (SWM) to the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) assembly. The BCM/GWM assembly converts the signal into a High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) powertrain systems bus signal to the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
