Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. G11312970

    Install new suspension arm setting clips.

  2. Install the transmission oil cooler mounting bracket if previously removed.

    Torque Specification: 9 Nm 

  3. Install the radiator mounting brackets.

    Torque Specification: 9 Nm 

  4. Install the stabilizer bar.

    Torque Specification: 60 Nm 

  5. Install the steering gear wiring harness.
  6. Install the steering gear. Use new bolts.

    Renew Part: Steering gear bolts. 

    Torque Specification: 

    Stage 1: 30 Nm 

    Stage 2: 60° 

  7. Connect the steering gear wiring harness.
  8. Install both the steering gear heat shields.

    Torque Specification: 9 Nm 

  9. Install both the engine mounts.

    Torque Specification: 47 Nm 

  10. Using a suitable stand, install the subframe. Use new bolts.

    General Equipment:  Powertrain Jack

    Renew Part: Front subframe to body bolts. 

    Torque Specification: 

    Front bolts

    Stage 1: 110 Nm 

    Stage 2: 180° 

    Centre bolts

    Stage 1: 110 Nm 

    Stage 2: 180° 

    Rear bolts

    Stage 1: 100 Nm 

    Stage 2: 60° 

  11. Remove the radiator support stand.
  12. Install the steering column. Use a new bolt.

    Renew Part: Steering column lower shaft lower bolt. 

    Torque Specification: 30 Nm 

  13. Install the transmission oil cooler if previously removed.

    Torque Specification: 9 Nm 

  14. Lower the vehicle on the lift to an appropriate working height.
  15. Connect the steering gear wiring harness.
  16. Install a new engine mount to engine bracket nuts.

    Renew Part: Engine mount to engine mount bracket nut. 

    Torque Specification: 60 Nm 

  17. Remove the special tools.
  18. Raise the vehicle on the lift to an appropriate working height.
  19. Install the engine mount vacuum pipe if previously removed.
  20. Install both the splash shields.
  21. CAUTION: Nuts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.

    Install all the lower suspension arms from the subframe. Use new nuts and bolts.

    Renew Part: Front lower control arm nut and bolt. 

    Renew Part: Rear lower control arm nut and bolt. 

    Torque Specification: 

    Stage 1: 100 Nm 

    Stage 2: 180° 

  22. Install both the tie rod end ball joints and discard the nuts.

    Renew Part: Tie-rod end nut. 

    Torque Specification: 133 Nm 

  23. Install both the stabiliser bar link lower ball joints. Use new nuts.

    Renew Part: Stabilizer bar link retaining nuts. 

    Torque Specification: 48 Nm 

  24. Install the coolant pipe bracket to the subframe if previously removed.
  25. Install the radiator protection bar.

    Torque Specification: 

    M10 45 Nm 

    M12 90 Nm 

  26. Install the front bumper

    Refer to: Front Bumper

  27. Install both front halfshafts.

    Refer to: Front Halfshaft

  28. Install the air deflector.

    Refer to: Air Deflector

  29. Install the engine cover.

    Refer to: Engine Cover - Ingenium I4 2.0L Petrol

  30. Connect the battery ground cable.

    Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect

  31. Position the vehicle on a suitable 4 post lift and check the 4 wheel alignment.

    Refer to: Four Wheel Alignment

    General Equipment:  Four-post lift
