Luggage Compartment Lid Latch
The luggage compartment lid latch is installed on the back panel of the luggage compartment and engages with a striker on the luggage compartment. The latch is released electrically by pressing the interior release switch located in the auxiliary lighting switch, the exterior release switch located above the license plate in the luggage compartment lid finisher, or the release switch on the Smart key. On NAS vehicles an emergency release handle and cable is attached to the latch. This allows the latch to be manually opened from inside the luggage compartment.
Operation of the locking motor in the luggage compartment lid latch is controlled by the LCLCM (Luggage Compartment Lid Control Module). An ajar switch in the latch provides the BCM/GWM with a status signal.
