The steering column has a shaft and a steering column adjustment mechanism contained in a frame assembly attached to the instrument panel cross-car beam. The steering column adjustment provides rake and reach adjustment of the shaft using two clamping mechanisms, which are operated by a single cable. The cable not be disassembled or adjusted. One clamping mechanism is for rake movement and one clamping mechanism is for reach movement.
