Transmission Fluid Cooler - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Petrol (G1904868): Removal

CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:

  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: Lifting .

    General Equipment:  Two-post lift

  2. Drain the transmission fluid system.

    Refer to: Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill .

  3. Drain the coolant system.

    Refer to: Cooling System Partial Draining and Vacuum Filling .

    • Remove the 3 clips securing the lower fender splash shield to the vehicle body.
    • Remove the front left lower fender splash shield.
  5. Release the 2 coolant pipes from the transmission cooler assembly.
    CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.

  6. Release the 2 transmission cooler tubes from the transmission cooler assembly.
    CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.

    • Remove the bolt securing the transmission oil cooler assembly to the bracket.
    • Remove the transmission fluid cooler.
