TREADPLATE Illumination Light Emitting Diodes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Jaguar XE and 2017 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The front door rocker panels are fitted with illuminated treadplates. The illumination is provided by Light Emitting Diodes (LED). When the LED are active they illuminate a 'Jaguar' graphic within the treadplate.

The treadplate LED are operated via the automatic interior lighting controlled by the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) assembly. When the doors are unlocked all of the treadplate LED are illuminated along with the interior lamps. The treadplate LED are operated by a hard wired connection from the BCM/GWM assembly to fade the LED on and off with the interior lamps. If the automatic illumination function has been disabled, the treadplate LED are also disabled.
