Approach Lamps
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Jaguar XE and 2017 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
An approach lamp is installed in the underside of each door mirror.
Each approach lamp is powered by a fused permanent power supply to the Driver Door Module (DDM) and the Passenger Door Module (PDM) from the Passenger Junction Box (PJB).
Each door module receives a signal from the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) assembly on the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) body systems bus to illuminate or extinguish the approach lamp. The approach lamps are active when the vehicle is unlocked or the engine is switched off and a front door opened.
