Seat Position Sensor - Notes On Removal/Replacement

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Jaguar XE and 2017 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: A driver seat position sensor is fitted across all markets, however, NAS vehicles have a seat position sensor fitted to both the driver and passenger-side seats.

The seat position sensor, a hall-effect sensor, is fitted to the underside of the driver-side seat (and passenger-side seat on NAS vehicles). It should be noted that these sensors cannot be re-installed once removed.

If any work is undertaken that requires removal of the seat position sensor, a NEW sensor MUST be fitted. Note that different sensors are fitted to left-side and right-side seats, so care should be taken to ensure the correct replacement parts are installed.
