Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

Remove the engine cover.
Refer to: Engine Cover - INGENIUM I4 2.0L Diesel .
Partially drain the cooling system.
Refer to: Cooling System Partial Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
NOTE: This step only applies to vehicles not fitted with a high pressure Exhaust Gas Reciculation (EGR) cooler.
- Remove the high pressure EGR valve outlet pipe.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
NOTE: This step only applies to vehicles fitted with a high pressure Exhaust gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler.
- Remove the high pressure EGR valve outlet pipe.
- Remove and discard the gaskets.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Disconnect the coolant hose.
CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Release the EGR inlet pipe.
- Discard the gasket.
CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping coolant.
- Disconnect the coolant hose.
- Remove the EGR valve.
