All vehicles

Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect .
Raise and support the vehicle.
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
Refer to: Oil Pan .
Engines fitted with tensioner
Remove and discard the centre bolt.
CAUTION: Using a suitable tool, hold the oil pump gear when removing the centre bolt.

NOTE: Make sure a new centre bolt is installed.

Renew Part: Oil pump gear bolt
1. Torque Specification:
  Stage 1 60 Nm
  
  Stage 2 90°
Remove and discard the chain tensioner assembly.

Renew Part: Timing chain tensioner

Engines fitted without tensioner
Remove and discard the centre bolt.
CAUTION: Using a suitable tool, hold the oil pump gear when removing the centre bolt.

NOTE: Make sure a new centre bolt is installed.
1. Torque Specification:
  Stage 1 60 Nm
  
  Stage 2 90°
