All vehicles
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

- Remove the turbocharger.

Vehicles with diesel particulate filter (DPF)
- Remove the catalytic converter and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) assembly.

Vehicles without diesel particulate filter (DPF)
- Remove the catalytic converter assembly.

All vehicles
- Remove the heatshields.
- Release the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pipe.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
- Remove the exhaust manifold.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
