Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Using the special tool install a new front crankshaft seal.

    Special Tool(s):  JLR-303-1628

    Torque Specification: 26 Nm 

  2. NOTE:
    • Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free from foreign material.
    • Install crankshaft damper onto guide pin for correct installation.

  3. Before installing the new crankshaft damper bolts check the length of the thread as shown in the illustration. The new bolts must be 48mm in length.

  4. Install four crankshaft damper bolts.
    CAUTION: Make sure that new bolts are installed.

    Special Tool(s):  JLR-303-1630

    Torque Specification: 

    Stage 1: 37 Nm 

    Stage 2: 90°

    Special Tool(s):  JLR-303-1630

  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
