Coil Spring (G2193672): Installation

CAUTION: Make sure that the components are installed to the noted position in the removal steps.

WARNING:
- Use 2 suspension coil spring compressors located on opposite sides of the coil spring. Make sure the suspension coil spring compressors are correctly installed. Refer to manufactures instructions.
- Make sure that protective jaws are installed to the suspension coil spring compressor. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the protective coating of the coil spring.
- Install the 2 coil spring compressors.
General Equipment: Suspension Spring Compressor
- Compress the coil spring.
- Install the coil spring.
- Raise the transmission jack.

- CAUTION:
- Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.
- Make sure that a new nut and bolt is installed.
NOTE: Do not fully tighten the nut and bolt at this stage.Install the nut and bolt.
Renew Part: Rear lower arm to knuckle nut and bolt Quantity: 1 .
- CAUTION:
- Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.
- Make sure that a new nut and bolt is installed.
NOTE: Do not fully tighten the nut and bolt at this stage.Install the nut and bolt.
Renew Part: Lower control arm nut and bolt Quantity: 1 .
- CAUTION:
- Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.
- Make sure that a new nut and bolt is installed.
NOTE: Do not fully tighten the nut and bolt at this stage.Install the nut and bolt.
Renew Part: Toe link to knuckle nut and bolt Quantity: 1 .
- CAUTION:
- Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.
- Make sure that a new nut and bolt is installed.
NOTE: Do not fully tighten the nut and bolt at this stage.Install the nut and bolt.
Renew Part: Shock absorber nut and bolt Quantity: 1 .
- Remove the 2 coil spring compressors.
- Install the height sensor.
- Remove the transmission jack.
- Install the rear wheel and tire assembly.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE .
- Lower the vehicle.

CAUTION: Make sure that the torque is applied on the nut.
Tighten the nut.
Torque
Stage 1: 70 Nm
Stage 2: 240°

Tighten the nut.

Stage 1: 48 Nm
Stage 2: 60°

CAUTION: Make sure that the torque is applied on the nut.
Tighten the nut.
Torque
Stage 1: 60 Nm
Stage 2: 180°

CAUTION: Make sure that the torque is applied on the nut.
Tighten the nut.
Torque : 170 Nm

- Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Connect the startup battery ground cable.

- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, calibrate the suspension ride height.
- Refer to: RIDE HEIGHT ADJUSTMENTS .
