Tire Pressure Sensor (G2160697): Removal

CAUTION:
  • Take extra care not to damage the sensor during the removal and refitting of the tire.
  • If a new sensor is installed, make sure that the sensor type and frequency is the same as the sensor that has been removed. Failure to follow this instruction may result in the system malfunction.
NOTE:
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

    Refer to: LIFTING

  2. Remove the wheel.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

    Remove the tire from the wheel, release the tire bead from the rim 180 degrees from the valve.

    • Remove the valve cap.
    • Remove the TPMS sensor.

    Remove and discard the TPMS sensor washer and seal.
