Wheel Alignment (G2217591): Activation

CAUTION:

Adjustments must completed on both sides of the vehicle.
Adjustments must be even on both sides of the vehicle.

NOTE:

Only use calibrated wheel alignment equipment recommended by Jaguar.
A change in camber or castor means a change in toe, therefore camber and castor must always be adjusted before adjusting the toe (only where adjustable).
Make sure the steering wheel is in the straight ahead position.
This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Note the correct geometry values before completing this procedure.
Refer to: SPECIFICATIONS
- Check the tie rod ends, suspension joints, wheel bearings and wheels and tires for damage, wear and excessive free play. Check and adjust the tire pressures.
- Replace any excessively worn components before completing this procedure.
Roll the vehicle backwards and forwards to settle the steering and suspension.
- Position the vehicle on a flat and level surface.
- Release the vehicle parking brake.
Set the vehicle to air suspension manual tight tolerance setting mode.

Install the recommended wheel alignment equipment.

Loosen the rear toe link locking nuts.

Adjust the rear wheel toe.

Tighten the rear toe link locking nuts.

Torque: 90 Nm

Renew the rear lower control arm to subframe nuts.

Renew Part: Rear lower control arm to subframe nuts Quantity: 2 .

Adjust the front wheel camber.

Tighten the rear lower control arm to subframe nuts.

Torque: 183 Nm

Renew the front lower control arm to subframe nuts.

Adjust the front wheel castor.

Tighten the front lower control arm to subframe nuts.

Torque: 183 Nm

CAUTION: To prevent damage to the tie rods, use an additional wrench when loosening or tightening the components.

NOTE: Do not allow the steering gear boot to twist.
