The Vehicle Dynamics Control Module (VDCM) hosts the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) hardware. The IMU is a cluster of rotational and linear accelerometer sensors. The IMU measures the physical effects of yaw, pitch roll, lateral, longitudinal acceleration and heave. This data is used by the ABS control module for vehicle stability functions, Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Roll Stability Control (RSC).
