Electronic Controlled Deceleration (ECD)
The braking operation is controlled by the ABS control module, in response to a request from the EPBCM on the HS CAN Powertrain bus. The ABS control module monitors the deceleration rate using the wheel speed sensor signals, and adjusts the hydraulic pressure to the brakes as necessary to achieve the required deceleration. All of the anti-lock control - traction control system brake modes remain enabled. As the vehicle comes to a halt, the hydraulic pressure is reduced to zero and the EPBCM will apply a constant 2KN of braking force until the vehicle is stationary, at this point if the EPB switch is releasing to neutral position the braking force will also be released.
If the G sensor signal in the EPBCM indicates that the vehicle has stopped and if ignition is on, the EPBCM will not hold the clamp force when the switch is applied once.
If the ignition is off and the vehicle is moving (DSD mode), the EPBCM will apply a constant 2KN of braking force until the vehicle is stationary, at this point if the EPB switch is releasing to neutral position the braking force will also be released.
If the G sensor signal in the EPBCM indicates that the vehicle has stopped and if the ignition is off, the EPBCM will apply full clamp force in two steps and hold the clamp force when the EPB switch is released to neutral position.
