Brake Pads - Vehicles With: Standard Brakes : Installation

  1. WARNING: Do not use compressed air to clean brake components. Dust from friction materials can be harmful if inhaled.

    Clean the brake caliper housing and anchor plate using brake cleaning fluid.

    Inspect the brake caliper piston and slide pin seals for damage.

  3. NOTE: Remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.

    Using a piston retraction tool, push the piston into the brake caliper housing.

    Install the brake pads.

    Install the brake caliper.

    Torque  : 35 Nm 

  6. NOTE: Right side only.

    • Install the brake pad wear sensor.
    • Connect the Electronic Park Brake (EPB).
  7. Install the wheel and tire.

    Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

  8. Depress the brake pedal several times, check the fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir and top-up with brake fluid if necessary.
  9. Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, Calibrate the EPB.

    General Equipment  : Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment 

  10. NOTE: This step is only required if Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment is not available.

    Deactivate the service mode function of the EPB.
