Brake Disc - Vehicles With: Standard Brakes : Removal
WARNING:
- Brake pads must be renewed in axle sets only. Failure to follow this instruction may result in braking efficiency being impaired.
- If the brake pad wear warning light has been activated, a new brake pad wear sensor must be installed.
CAUTION:
Brake discs must be renewed in pairs.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, set the Electric Park Brake (EPB) to the maintenance position.
General Equipment: Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment
- Activate the service mode function of the EPB.

NOTE: This step is only required if the vehicle has no startup power.
Release the EPB.

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING
- Remove the wheel and tire.
Refer to: WHEEL AND TIRE

NOTE: Right side only.
- Release the brake pad wear sensor.
- Disconnect the EPB.

CAUTION: Do not allow the brake caliper to hang on the brake hose.
Release the rear brake caliper and tie aside.
Remove the brake pads.
- Remove and discard the 2 retaining bolts.
- Remove the brake caliper carrier.
- Remove the 2 retaining clips.
- Remove the brake disc.
- Repeat the above procedure on the opposite side.
