Spark Plugs : Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE: Clean all the mating faces and reusable parts thoroughly and check for damage.

Check the spark plug gap, refer to SPECIFICATIONS
WARNING: Make sure that the spark plug ceramic insulator and terminal pin are wiped/cleaned dry using a soft clean cloth.

CAUTION: Following installation of the spark plugs in the cylinder head visually inspect the paint mark on the terminal of the spark plug for correct orientation. The head of the T paint mark must face the fuel injector within ± 45°.

Use the special tool to install and tighten the 4 spark plugs.

Special Tool(s): 303-1450

Torque : 22.5 Nm
WARNING: Make sure that the ignition coil rubber boot is pushed down fully over the spark plug insulator ceramic. Double check by installing the ignition coil as usual and then pushing on the ignition coil head gently for a second time to make sure that the ignition coil rubber boot has seated correctly over the spark plug insulator.
- Install the 4 ignition coils.
- Install the 4 retaining bolts.
  Torque : 8 Nm
- Install the 4 ignition coil electrical connectors.
Connect the fuel rail electrical connector.
Install the engine cover.
