Engine Front Cover (G2046459): Removal

NOTE:

- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Disconnect the 12 V system.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Drain the engine oil.
Refer to: ENGINE OIL VACUUM DRAINING AND FILLING .
- Remove the accessory drive belt.
Refer to: ACCESSORY DRIVE BELT .
Remove the accessory drive belt idler pulleys.

CAUTION: Make sure that the special tool is correctly located.
Install the special tool onto the crankshaft pulley.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1630
Remove and discard the 4 crankshaft pulley retaining bolts.
- Remove the crankshaft pulley special tool.
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1630
- Remove the crankshaft pulley.
- Remove the crankshaft pulley special tool.
- Remove the 12 bolts.
- Remove the engine front cover.
