Continuous Variable Valve Lift Assembly Oil Temperature Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assembly oil temperature sensor is mounted in a threaded hole in the front side of the CVVL assembly. The CVVL assembly oil temperature sensor is a Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) type sensor. The NTC sensor allows the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to determine the oil temperature.
The oil temperature sensor has 2 pin connector which provide a temperature signal input to the PCM and a ground connection. This information is used by the PCM to determine oil viscosity and allows accurate CVVL solenoid switching time compensation.
