Compressor RECIRCULATION Valve
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The Compressor Recirculation Valve (CRV) is located in the charge air duct. The charge air duct is located between the outlet air side of the turbocharger and the inlet side of the charge air cooler.
During a quick throttle closing event the CRV prevents that the charge air flow would turn around and flows through the compressor. This would cause compressor surge. The CRV allows to recirculate the pressurized air in the charge air hose to the compressor intake. This prevents the compressor surge during the quick throttle closing events.
