Front Silencer (G2020237): Removal

WARNING: Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.

NOTE:

This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

General Equipment: 2 post lift
Remove the rear silencer
Refer to: REAR SILENCER

Remove the left side and the right side undershields.
CAUTION: Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.

NOTE: Remove and discard the exhaust clamp.

- Release the exhaust to catalytic converter assembly clamp bolt.
- The exhaust clamp is spot welded into position and will require removal with the use of a grinder or a drill.
CAUTION: Make sure the exhaust system is supported at all times.

Support the centre exhaust section, remove the 4 bolts securing the exhaust cross brace. Then with assistance from another technician remove the exhaust center section.
