Windshield - Project 8 (G2248422): Installation

  1. CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

    Remove all residual sealant material from the body.

  2. CAUTION: Touching the adhesive surface will impair re-bonding.

    Prepare the windshield, windshield flange and trimmed Polyurethane (PU) adhesive in accordance with the instructions included with the Jaguar Land Rover PU adhesive service kit.

  3. CAUTION: Make sure that equal pressure is applied to the full length of the component.
    NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

    With assistance, install the windshield.

    General Equipment: Windscreen removal/installation equipment 

  4. NOTE: Make sure that the gap around the component is even.

    Align the windshield.

  5. CAUTION: Make sure that no excess sealant residue is evident.

    Spray water around the windshield, mark any area that leaks. Dry the windshield and sealant before applying additional sealant.

  6. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

    Install the A-pillar moulding.

    Connect the 2 electrical connectors.

    Connect the 2 electrical connectors.

    Install the Image Progressing Control Module (IPCM) light traps.

  10. NOTE: The Image Processing Control Module (IPCM) must be calibrated using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment after the procedure.

    • Install the IPCM.
    • Connect the electrical connector.

    • Install the humidity sensor.
    • Secure the wiring harness clip.
    • Connect the electrical connector.
  12. Install the rain/light sensor.

    Refer to: RAIN SENSOR

  13. NOTE: Repeat the procedure for the other side.

    Install the A-pillar trim panel.

  14. Install the cowl panel.

    Refer to: COWL PANEL
