Rear Window - Project 8 (G2250540): Installation

CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

Remove all residual sealant material from the body.
CAUTION: Touching the adhesive surface will impair re-bonding.

Prepare the rear window, the rear window flange and trimmed PU adhesive in accordance with the instructions included with the Jaguar Land Rover PU adhesive service kit.
CAUTION: Make sure that equal pressure is applied to the full length of the component.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

With assistance, install the rear window.

General Equipment: Windscreen removal/installation equipment
NOTE: Make sure that the gap around the component is even.

Align the rear window.
Install the High Mounted Stop Lamp (HMSL).
Refer to: HIGH MOUNTED STOPLAMP
CAUTION: Make sure that no excess sealant residue is evident.

Spray water around the rear window, mark any area that leaks. Dry the rear window and sealant before applying additional sealant.

Connect the 4 electrical connectors.

Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
Install the parcel shelf.
