Anti-Trap Protection

NOTE: When it is necessary to raise a window, the anti-trap protection can be overridden by attempting to close the window at intervals of less than 10 seconds. On the third attempt, anti-trap protection and one-touch mode is disabled for 10 seconds to allow the window to be closed in inch mode to overcome the obstruction.

To prevent serious personal injury or damage to the vehicle an anti-trap protection feature is incorporated for all door windows. It is active both during window closing in both inch and one touch modes.

The relevant door module is able to monitor the window regulator motor speed, when the motor speed decreases below a set threshold indicating an obstruction the anti-trap function is triggered. If the anti-trap function is triggered while the window is closing in inch mode, then the window will stop in the position when the obstruction is detected. If the anti-trap function is triggered while the window is closing in one-touch mode the window will stop its closing movement. The window will reverse (open) by approximately 200mm (7.9 inches) or to the fully open position to allow the removal of any obstruction.
