Instrument Panel Cross-Car Beam (G2724703): Installation

  1. NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if the component was previously removed.
    • Install the instrument panel cross-car beam to the climate control housing.
    • Install and tighten the 6 bolts.

      Torque  : 9Nm 

  2. CAUTION: This step requires the aid of another technician.
    • With assistance, install the instrument panel cross-car beam with the climate control housing.
    • Install and tighten the 4 bolts.

      Torque  : 20Nm 

  3. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Install the instrument panel cross-car beam lower bracket.
    • Install and tighten the 3 bolts.

      Torque  : 9Nm 

  4. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

    Install the evaporator drain tube.

  5. NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the position noted on removal.

    Position the wiring harness on the instrument panel cross-car beam.

  6. NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the position noted on removal.
    • Install the 3 wiring harness clips.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 9Nm 

  7. NOTE: Make sure that the component is installed to the position noted on removal.

    Install the 5 wiring harness clips.

  8. Install and tighten the bolt.

    Torque  : 10Nm 

  9. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
    • Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
    • Install the cover.
  11. Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
  12. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Install the floor heater duct.
    • Install and tighten the screw.

      Torque  : 1.5Nm 

  13. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

    Install the front floor mat.

  14. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Install the A-pillar lower trim panel.
    • Install and tighten the screw.

      Torque  : 2.5Nm 

  15. NOTE: Driver side only.
    • Install the hood release lever.
    • Install and tighten the screw.

      Torque  : 2.5Nm 

  16. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.

    Install the front door aperture seal.

  17. NOTE: Repeat the step for the other side.
    • Connect the electrical connector.
    • Install the front treadplate trim panel.
    • Install and tighten the nut.

      Torque  : 20Nm 

    • Install the 2 A/C pipes.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 9Nm 

    • Connect the 2 heater hoses.
    • Install and tighten the bolt.

      Torque  : 20Nm 

  20. Install the instrument panel console.

    Refer to: INSTRUMENT PANEL CONSOLE - [+] VEHICLES WITHOUT HEAD UP DISPLAY (G2367421)

  21. Install the right secondary bulkhead panel.

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT PANEL - INGENIUM I4 2.0L DIESEL

    Refer to: SECONDARY BULKHEAD RIGHT PANEL - V6 S/C 3.0L PETROL

  22. Charge the A/C  system.

    Refer to: AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM RECOVERY, EVACUATION AND CHARGING

  23. Fill the cooling system.

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM PARTIAL DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING

    Refer to: COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING AND VACUUM FILLING

  24. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

    Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT
