Video System (G2196502): Operation: Television
The Television (TV) system is controlled by software located within the Infotainment Master Controller (IMC).
The TV tuner within the IMC provides support for variations in TV transmission across all markets. Refer to 'Infotainment Master Controller (IMC)' earlier in this article.
TV audio and video is processed by the IMC.
Audio output is passed to the Audio Amplifier Module (AAM) via a BroadR-Reach® ethernet connection from the IMC. Vehicles fitted with headphones have a headphone transmitter connected to the AAM via an Low-Voltage Differential Signalling (LVDS) connection for audio output to the wireless headphones.
Video output is passed to the Touch Screen (TS) via an Automotive Pixel Link 2 (APIX2) connection from the IMC.
TV channel selection is controlled from the Touch Screen (TS). The TV tuner within the IMC allows the viewing of TV channels subject to broadcast signal strength.
