INCONTROL Touch Navigation System
The Audio Head Unit (AHU) is connected to other vehicle systems via the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) comfort systems bus. The AHU is also connected to the Touch Screen (TS) via an Automotive Pixel Link 2 (APIX2) connection. For additional information, refer to: AUDIO SYSTEM
The driver can control navigation system functions by using the TS or by voice commands.
On vehicles equipped with Head Up Display (HUD), the AHU is connected to the Head Up Display Control Module (HUDCM) via a the HS CAN comfort systems bus. This connection allows turn by turn navigation data to be displayed on the windshield by the HUDCM.
Navigation data is stored on an Secure Digital (SD) memory card which is inserted in a socket in the portable audio interface panel in the floor console. The AHU reads the map data directly from the SD memory card. The navigation system will only start after the SD card has been activated and assigned to the vehicle. This procedure is done at the Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI).
Once the SD card has been activated the SD card cannot be used in any other vehicle.
