Antenna (G2196504): Overview

A number of antennas are used for the various frequency reception requirements of the infotainment system.

A roof pod is fitted and contains antennas for Global System for Mobile communications (GSM), external WiFi and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).

At the top of the rear window are three antenna elements which are not part of the heated rear window. These are marked with the word 'Antenna' next to them. The three antenna elements create two antenna structures that are used for Amplitude Modulation (AM) (left side) and Television (TV) or Digital radio (right side).

At the bottom of the rear window are two antenna elements which are not part of the heated rear window. The two antenna elements create two antenna structures that are used for TV and/or Digital radio (left side) and Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH). The FFBH antenna element is used for FFBH remote control and is not part of the infotainment antenna system.

The heated rear window elements are utilized for TV, Digital radio, Frequency Modulation (FM), Traffic Message Channel (TMC) (InControl Touch systems only when navigation system is fitted), Vehicle Information and Communication System (VICS) (Japan Only).
