Audio System (G2271833): Operation: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2020 Jaguar XE and 2019 Jaguar XE. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Infotainment Master Controller (IMC) is subject to the power management of the Quiescent Current Control Module (QCCM). The Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM) controls the power management of the QCCM.

For additional information, Refer to: QUIESCENT DRAIN

The BCM/GWM controls the QCCM. The BCM/GWM receives startup battery status signals from the Battery Monitoring System (BMS) control module. The BCM/GWM can disable the power supply to other non-essential control modules to avoid excessive discharge of the startup battery. The QCCM provides power to the infotainment systems and the climate control systems.

The IMC connects to the Touchscreen (TS) via an Automotive Pixel Link 2 (APIX2) connection. APIX2 is a high speed data transmission over 2 twisted pair cables. TS selections by the driver go to the IMC on the APIX2 connection for processing.

The front portable media interface panel connects to the IMC with a Universal Serial Bus (USB) data link and an APIX2 connection. The USB sockets provide a 5V charging output for the connected device and also provide external connection of a device to the IMC. The APIX2 connection provides video input into the IMC from an external device.

The QCCM provides the power to the front portable media interface panel.

The Audio Amplifier Module (AAM) receives a power supply via a fuse in the Battery Junction Box (BJB) and the QCCM.

Video data passes from the IMC to the Instrument Cluster (IC) on APIX2 connection. The data connection provides video output from the IMC for user interface information to be displayed in the IC.
