Inspection And Verification

CAUTION: Diagnosis by substitution from a donor vehicle is NOT acceptable. Substitution of control modules does not guarantee confirmation of a fault, and may also cause additional faults in the vehicle being tested and/or the donor vehicle

Verify the customer concern
Confirm if the ABS warning light was illuminated, or still is
NOTE: An intermittent fault may allow the warning light to go off. This does not necessarily mean the fault is not present. Some warnings will appear to clear when the ignition is cycled. This is often because the warning has flagged as a result of one of the vehicle's on-board diagnostic routines having run to detect the fault. If the same routine is not run when the ignition status is set to ON , the warning will not re-flag until the routine does run

Visually inspect for obvious signs of damage and system integrity

If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step
If the cause is not visually evident check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes and refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code Index

Error message "Stability Control Not Available, Intelligent Emergency Braking System Not Available, All Terrain Progress Control (ATPC) disabled, Forward Alert Not Available" warning displayed on the Instrument Cluster (IC) with Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) present	Brake over accelerator event causing Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) 73857-81 and/or P0120-81 to set within the Anti-Lock Brake System Control Module (ABS) due to an incorrect message received from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM)	NOTE: The diagnostic steps below are ONLY relevant to TDV6 Powertrain vehicles with the following Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) -ranges: L560 19MY from VIN SALYA2AK0KA200006 up to VIN SALYA2BKXKA799916/X761 19MY from VIN SADCA2AK0KA351935 up to VIN SADCA2BKXKA614950/L560 20MY from VIN SALYA2AK0LA238174 up to VIN SALYA2BKXLA278440/X761 20MY from VIN SADCA2AK0LA617892 up to VIN SADCA2BKXLA652342 CAUTION: This procedure requires a minimum of Pathfinder 277 loaded or later NOTE: The Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment will read the VIN for the vehicle and automatically take the vehicle out of 'Transportation Mode' if required Connect the JLR approved battery support unit Connect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment to the vehicle and begin a new session Follow the JLR approved diagnostic equipment prompts Select 'ECU Diagnostics' Select 'Powertrain Control Module (PCM)' Select 'Update ECU' Follow all on-screen instructions to complete the task If required, reset the vehicle to 'Transportation Mode' When all of the tasks are complete, exit the session Disconnect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment and the JLR approved battery support unit
