JAGUARDRIVE Control
JaguarDrive Control (JDC) is a selectable vehicle optimization system designed to fine-tune the driving characteristics of the vehicle to suit different driving conditions and styles. The system allows the performance envelope of the vehicle to be stretched and prevents the necessity for a single, compromised configuration for all conditions.
The JDC system uses a combination of various vehicle sub-systems to achieve the required vehicle characteristics for the mode selected.
The JDC function allows the operation of 4 different kinds of modes as follows:
- Track mode
- Dynamic mode
- Normal mode
- ECO mode.
Track Mode
Track mode is optimized for use with the lowered ride height, track spoiler and splitter setting unleashing the vehicle's ultimate track performance. This mode also provides an extreme and engaging driving experience.
The driving mode supplies a more track focused throttle response, the most aggressive gearshifts and greater suspension control. This programme optimizes the vehicle's traction, handling and drive-ability characteristics for maximum grip and agility.
Dynamic Mode
Dynamic mode co-ordinates the vehicle's control systems to deliver a high performance driving experience by:
- Modifying the accelerator pedal progression to give increased response.
- Maintaining a high transmission actuation when in dynamic mode with faster, firmer shifts.
- Improved steering feel through reduced assistance.
- Stiffer damper map within Adaptive Damping (AD) settings.
Normal Mode
When normal driving mode is selected, all of the vehicle's systems return to their normal settings. Normal driving mode should be selected once the need for any other driving mode selection has passed.
ECO Mode
- These features are dependent on the vehicle's specification. The audio volume may also be adjusted if currently set to a high volume. If required, the driver can override these changes by normal operation of each feature or menu setting.
- ECO data only begins recording data after the vehicle has travelled at least 1 km (0.62 miles).
ECO mode modifies the vehicle's settings to reduce fuel consumption and to encourage a more efficient driving style. The accelerator pedal response and the automatic gear shift changes are adjusted to encourage an efficient driving style and to save fuel. Selecting ECO mode also changes some of the vehicle's heating and ventilation settings:
- The auto heated screen deployment is set to off.
- The auto blower intensity is set to low.
The ECO data system provides a number of features that provide extra vehicle efficiency data and guidance. The ECO data menu can be accessed via the 'EXTRA FEATURES' menu from the Touchscreen (TS).
