Engine Drag-Torque Control

Engine Drag-torque Control (EDC) stops wheel slip caused by any of the following:

Sudden decrease in engine torque when the accelerator pedal is suddenly released.
Downshift using the sequential shift function.

The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) control module can detect the onset of wheel slip without the brakes being applied. If this is the case, the ABS control module signals the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to request a momentary increase in engine torque. Signals are transmitted on the High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) chassis systems bus and the Flexray.
