All Surface Progress Control Switch

The all surface progress control switch is located in the floor console. Pressing the switch enables the all surface progress control system. The Light Emitting Diode (LED) in the switch illuminates, and a warning indicator also illuminates in the Instrument Cluster (IC).

The set speed of the all surface progress control system is operated by the speed control switches on the right steering wheel switchpack.

The all surface progress control system is disabled when the switch is pressed again or if the ignition is switched off for more than 6 hours.

All surface progress control has 2 modes:

• Descent control mode
• Full function mode.

When enabled, the all surface progress control system defaults to descent control mode. For example, the system limits the vehicle's speed when descending an incline, this is achieved by the system operating the brakes only. All surface progress control holds this speed, unless the system detects the use of the following:

• Accelerator pedal
• Brake pedal
• Speed control 'SET+' switch on the right steering wheel switchpack.

Full function mode is used for all other maneuvers that require controlled progress over obstacles or through difficult terrain. For example, pulling away on a gradient and maintaining a desired speed. Full function mode controls the vehicle's speed by operating both the brakes and engine torque.

All surface progress control can be activated at any point during the drive cycle between 0 and 80 km/h (55 mph). The operational range is between 0 and 30 km/h (18.6 mph).

The selectable set speed range for all surface progress control is between 3.5 and 30 km/h (2.1 and 18.6 mph).

Standby speed range is between 30 and 80 km/h (18.6 and 55 mph), but the feature can be still selected.

The feature is not available above 80 km/h (55 mph), if previously selected it will be automatically disengaged.
