Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) Switch

The Dynamic Stability Control (DCS) switch is a non-latching switch installed in the JaguarDrive Switchpack (JDS), in the floor console. The DSC switch operation produces a High Speed (HS) Controller Area Network (CAN) chassis system bus message from the JDS to the ABS control module.

DSC becomes active whenever the engine is running. A momentary press of the switch allows the driver to toggle between the standard DSC settings and the TracDSC settings. The message TracDSC or DSC ON appear temporarily in the Instrument Cluster (IC) message center. The amber DSC off warning indicator in the IC stays on while TracDSC is selected.

The driver can switch off DSC by pressing and holding the switch for more than three seconds. The message DSC OFF appears in the IC message center to confirm DSC has been switched off. The amber DSC OFF warning indicator in the IC stays on. The system can be switched back on again by pressing and releasing the switch. The message DSC ON temporarily appears in the IC message center to confirm the system is on.

DSC returns to ON at the beginning of each ignition cycle, regardless of the previous setting.

If a fault is detected with the DSC switch, the ABS control module defaults to the DSC on setting and any switch requests are ignored.

WARNING: When show chains are used, switch on the DSC and select the JaguarDrive control winter mode.
