The brake vacuum pump is a mechanically driven vane pump installed on the front of the oil pan. The auxiliary chain drives the brake vacuum pump. The brake vacuum pump is attached to the oil pan with the help of 2 bolts. A seal is installed in a groove on the mating face of the brake vacuum pump.
The brake vacuum pump drive gear locates on the end of the rotor and engages with slots in the front of the auxiliary camshaft of the fuel pump. An oil supply tube in the center of the rotor supplies engine oil from the auxiliary camshaft of the fuel pump to lubricate the brake vacuum pump. Exhaust air from the brake vacuum pump is expelled into the engine crankcase through the oil pan.
The brake vacuum pump drive gear locates on the end of the camshaft with slots.
