Oil Pan Extension (G2244090): Removal

Disconnect the battery ground cable
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.

Raise and support the vehicle.

Support the special tool using a suitable vehicle stand.

CAUTION: The crankshaft pulley bolt must be removed clockwise. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the crankshaft.

NOTE: The crankshaft pulley bolt will be very tight.

NOTE: If the crankshaft damper is fitted with an early RH thread crankshaft bolt then the pulley can be removed with a standard puller.

NOTE: Make sure to clean the threads in the end of the crankshaft and that the crank nose is free of any foreign materials.

- The bolts can only be used 3 times, mark the bolts with a center punch. If 2 punch marks are visible, discard the bolts.
- Make sure that no components fall off during removal.
