Lower Timing Cover (G2244085): Installation

Apply RTV sealant WSE-M4G323-A6 (Loctite 5901G) to the areas shown above, and tighten the bolts within 7 minutes.
CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.

Install the timing cover using the alignment tool.

Special Tool(s) : 303-1433

Renew Part: Crankshaft front oil seal Quantity: 1 .

Install the 4 primary retaining bolts.

Torque

M6: 10Nm

M10: 48Nm

Install the 9 retaining bolts.

Torque : 12Nm
Install the brake vacuum pump.
Refer to: BRAKE VACUUM PUMP - V8 S/C 5.0L PETROL, PROJECT 8 .

Install the accessory drive belt pulley and bracket assembly.

Torque : 25Nm
CAUTION: Install all the bolts finger tight before final tightening.

Install the Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) tensioner.

Torque : 40Nm
Install the crankshaft damper.
Refer to: CRANKSHAFT PULLEY .
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
