Left Exhaust Manifold (G2244080): Removal

WARNING:
Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.
NOTE:

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
Refer to: LIFTING .
- Remove the left catalytic converter.
Refer to: LEFT CATALYTIC CONVERTER .
- Remove the left engine mount.
Refer to: LEFT ENGINE MOUNT .
Release the engine ground cable.
Release the engine wiring harness.
Remove the engine mounting bracket.
Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) and release the wiring harness from the retaining clip.
Release the wiring harness from the retaining clip.
Release the wiring harness from the retaining clip.
Remove the manifold heatshield.
Use the special tool to remove the exhaust manifold bolts.
Install the Special Tool(s) : JLR-303-1652

NOTE: Make sure that the position of the spacers is noted before removal of the manifold.
- Remove and discard the bolts.
- Remove the left exhaust manifold and discard the gasket.
Remove the Special Tool(s) : JLR-303-1652

CAUTION: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.NOTE: Only do the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed
Using the special tool remove the HO2S sensor.
