Left Exhaust Manifold (G2244080): Installation

CAUTION:
- Make sure the anti-seize compound does not contact the HO2S tip.
- If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new sensor.
NOTE: If the original sensor is to be installed, apply lubricant meeting specification ESE-M12A4-A to the thread of the sensor.

Using the special tool install the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S).

Special Tool(s) : 310-121

Torque : 45Nm

- Install a new exhaust manifold gasket.
  Renew Part: Exhaust manifold gasket Quantity: 1 .
- Using the special tool install the exhaust manifold.
  Special Tool(s) : 303-1444-01
NOTE: If a new cylinder head is installed use the special tools in the illustration.

- Install a new exhaust manifold gasket.
  Renew Part: Exhaust manifold gasket Quantity: 1 .
- Using the special tool install the exhaust manifold.
  Special Tool(s) : 303-1444-02
NOTE: Install the spacers in the noted position.

Install the new exhaust manifold bolts in the sequence illustrated.

Install the Special Tool(s) : JLR-303-1652, 303-1444-01

Renew Part: Exhaust manifold bolts Quantity: 6 .

Torque : 10Nm
Remove the special tool.
Special Tool(s) : 303-1444-01, 303-1444-02
NOTE: Install the spacers in the noted position.

Install the new exhaust manifold bolts in the sequence illustrated.

Renew Part: Exhaust manifold bolts Quantity: 2 .

Torque : 10Nm

Tighten the exhaust manifold bolts in the sequence illustrated.

Remove the Special Tool(s) : JLR-303-1652

Torque : 18Nm
Install the manifold heatshield.
Torque

Bolt 6.3 x 13: 3Nm

M8: 25Nm
Secure the wiring harness to the retaining clip.
Secure the wiring harness to the retaining clip.
Connect the HO2S sensor.
Install the engine mounting bracket.
Torque : 48Nm
Secure the engine wiring harness.
Secure the engine ground cable.
Torque : 10Nm
Install the engine mount
Refer to: LEFT ENGINE MOUNT .
Install the left catalytic converter.
Refer to: LEFT CATALYTIC CONVERTER .
Connect the startup battery ground cable.
Refer to: STARTUP BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT .
