Wheel Knuckle (G1856521): Removal

CAUTION:
To avoid damage to the Constant Velocity joint (CV) or CV
boot, do not allow the halfshaft to hang.
NOTE:
- If a new knuckle is to be installed, a new wheel bearing will be required.
- Some variation in the illustrations may occur, but the essential information is always correct.
- Some components shown removed for clarity.
- Deactivate the electronic park brake.

- Raise and support the vehicle.

- Remove the wheel and tire.

CAUTION: Do not use air or power tools to remove or install the halfshaft nut.
Apply the foot brake and remove and discard the halfshaft nut.

CAUTION: Do not use excessive force to remove the component.

- Discard the bolts.
- Do not allow the brake caliper to hang on the brake hose.

WARNING: Using a suitable stand, support the lower arm.CAUTION: Discard the nut and bolt.

CAUTION: As the halfshaft is still installed extra care must be taken when removing the upper control arm. Failure to follow this instruction might disassemble or damage the CV or CV boot.NOTE: Discard the nuts and bolts.
