Lower Arm - Project 8 (G2246516): Removal

CAUTION:
Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
- This procedure contains illustrations for left side components, right side components are similar.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

- Remove the rear undershield.
Refer to: ENGINE UNDERSHIELD - PROJECT 8
- Remove the rear spring.
Refer to: SPRING - PROJECT 8
Disconnect the height sensor.
- Remove and discard the 2 integral link nuts and bolts.
- Remove the 2 integral links.
Remove and discard the stabilizer bar link nut.
Remove the lower control arm to wheel knuckle bolt.

CAUTION: Do not support the wheel knuckle on the carbon ceramic brake disc.
Using a suitable stand, support the wheel knuckle.
Remove and discard the lower control arm front bolt.
Remove and discard the lower control arm rear nut and bolt.
Remove the bolt and remove the height sensor bracket.
- Remove the bolt.
- Remove and discard the retained nut.
Remove the 2 bolts and remove the air duct.
