Right Fuel Rail (G2244113): Installation

Install new fuel injector O-ring seals to the 4 fuel injectors.

Renew Part: Fuel Injector replacement kits Quantity: 4 .

Install new Teflon™ seals on the lower tips of the 4 injectors from the fuel injector replacement kit.

Special Tool(s): 310-198

Using the special tool re-shape the Teflon™ seal.

Install new fuel injector clamps to the 4 injectors from the fuel injector replacement kit.
CAUTION: If a new cylinder head has been installed then the special tool 310-200-02 without the thread must be used to install the fuel rail.

Install the special tool.

Special Tool(s): 310-200-01 , 310-200-02
CAUTION:
- Make sure that the area around the open fuel injector ports are clean and free of foreign material and lubricant prior to installing the fuel injector(s).
- When installing the fuel injector(s), make sure that the Teflon™ seal is clean and free of foreign material and lubricant.

Install the 4 fuel injectors.
CAUTION:
- If new fuel injectors are installed, a new injector clamp must be installed.
- Make sure that the fuel injector is aligned and installed into the fuel rail correctly, as noted in the removal step.

- Do not fully tighten the bolts at this stage.
- Lubricate the fuel injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil.
- Install the fuel rail and 2 bolts.

Remove the special tool.

Remove the Special Tool(s): 310-200-01 , 310-200-02

- Do not fully tighten the bolts at this stage.
- Install the 2 bolts.

Tighten the 4 bolts in the sequence illustrated.

Torque : 30Nm

- Install the electrical connector to the fuel rail pressure sensor.
- Install the clip.

Using the special tool install the 4 spark plugs.

Special Tool(s): 303-1450

Torque : 22Nm

Following installation of the spark plugs in the cylinder head, visually inspect the paint mark on the terminal of the spark plug for correct orientation. The head of the T paint mark must face the fuel injector within ± 45°.

- Install the 4 ignition coils.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
  Torque : 7Nm

Install the 8 electrical connectors to the ignition coils and fuel injectors.

- Do not fully tighten at this stage.
- Lubricate the fuel line union threads with clean engine oil.
- Install a new HP fuel supply line.
  Renew Part: Fuel rail supply pipe(s) Quantity: 1 .
- Install the 2 bolts and the nut.

- Do not fully tighten the fuel line union at this stage.
- Install the fuel line union to the fuel rail.

Tighten the fuel line unions, 2 bolts and nut in the sequence illustrated.

Torque

Unions (1): 21Nm

M6 (2): 11Nm

M8 (3): 25Nm

M5 nut (4): 6Nm
- Install the idler pulley.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
  Torque : 25Nm

Rotate the accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and secure the accessory drive belt to the idler pulley.

- Install the heatshield.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
  Torque
  
  M10: 29Nm
  
  M6: 11Nm

Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the HP fuel pumps and secure the 2 clips.
Install the engine undershield.

Install the wiring harness clip.

- Do not fully tighten the unions and the bolts at this stage.
- Lubricate only the union threads with clean engine oil.
- Install the fuel line and the 4 bolts.

Tighten the 4 bolts and the 2 fuel line unions.

Torque

Unions: 21Nm

Bolts: 8Nm
Install the air filter outlet pipe T-connector.

Install the clip and connect the breather.

Install the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) material.

Connect the 2 right side coolant hoses to the charge air cooler.

Install the vacuum pipe.

Install the NVH material and oil filler cap.

Install the clip and connect the 2 left side coolant hoses.
Vacuum fill the cooling system.

Connect the startup battery ground cable.
