Emergency Key Barrel Cover Adrift
A customer may express concern that the emergency key barrel cover has become adrift. This may be caused by insufficient retaining features on the front exterior door handle gasket, which requires replacement. Should a customer express this concern, follow the service instruction below:

The JLR claims submission system requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

- A new exterior door handle gasket MUST be installed prior to fitting a new emergency key barrel cover
- The new emergency key barrel cover MUST be painted before installation
- Only complete the service instruction for the front exterior door handle which has the emergency key access barrel cover installed.
- Remove the front exterior door handle, Refer to: EXTERIOR FRONT DOOR HANDLE
- Remove the front exterior door handle gasket (as shown above).NOTE: Discovery vehicle models in the UK are installed with key barrel covers on BOTH sides of the vehicle, be sure to order the correct barrel cover required.
- Install the new front exterior door handle gasket (as shown above).
- Install the front exterior door handle, Refer to: EXTERIOR FRONT DOOR HANDLE
- Install a new emergency key barrel cover.
