Luggage Compartment Lid

Operation of the locking motor in the luggage compartment lid latch is controlled by the Body Control Module/Gateway Module (BCM/GWM). An ajar switch in the latch provides the BCM/GWM with a "latch open" status signal.

The vehicle alarm system will flash the turn signal indicators when it was armed prior to the lid being opened and then the lid is fully closed. The turn signal indicators will flash once to indicate that the luggage compartment is protected.

A valid smart key must be within 1 m (3.28 ft) of the rear of the vehicle when manually closing the lid. Else the lid will be unlatched automatically and a mislock warning will be sounded.

If any valid smart key is detected inside the vehicle after manually closing the lid, it will be unlatched automatically and a mislock warning will be sounded.

The user must unlock the vehicle and either remove all valid smart keys, or else re-lock the vehicle using:
