Interior Door Handles

NOTE:
When double lock feature is used on the vehicle, the latches will first be single locked and then double locked. Double locking is a deliberate secondary action by the user to provide enhanced security to the vehicle.
The interior door handles are connected by a cable to the latch release mechanisms. Lock and unlock switches adjacent to each interior door handle allow the door locks to be activated from inside the vehicle. If a door is ajar, the locking feature is inhibited.
When the vehicle is single locked, the locking motors disengage the door latches from the exterior handle release cables.
The single lock can be activated in the following manner:
- A single press via the interior lock switches.
- Drive away door locking event.
- A single press on the smart key lock switch.
- A single press via the passive lock switch on the exterior door handle.
When the vehicle is exterior double locked, the locking motors disengage the door latches from the interior handle release cables. When the vehicle is subsequently unlocked, the release cables are re-engaged with the door latches.
The double lock can be activated in the following manner:
- Pressing the smart key lock switch twice within 3 seconds.
- A second press of the passive lock switch on the exterior door handle.
